oecd is also collecting donations to be transfered to the red cross too. i didnot know the (bad) performance of the red cross... which npo do you recommend?
i agree it is important not to forget and support in a long term.
by the way, i went back to japan, arriving on the day of the earthquake. it was the worst timing ever to go back. i could manage to come back to paris last week, though. i was very lucky.
hope to see you soon, mimi
Hi Mimi, sorry to hear that you experienced the awful earthquake. It was sad Satogaeri, wasn't it?
As for Red Cross, I am not saying that they are bad, but it is too big to distribute the fund on a timely basis. Also, it doesn't make any difference even if I don't donate to them, because they get the huge amount of money from public, politicians, celebrities, etc. Rather I want to support the group or organisation which starts to work quickly, shows the immediate results and supports people in the mid-term. There are many such NGOs in Japan, but if you don't know well, I will give you the list later.
See you soon!
